Austyn McGroarty’s cooking career began in 2006, when he first stepped into restaurant kitchens as a teenager working summer jobs in fast food. His passion quickly grew, leading him into full-time prep and line cook roles in casual restaurants before advancing to training under Executive Chefs in some of downtown Greenville’s finest dining establishments. It was there that he built a strong foundation in technique, discipline, and thoughtful cooking. Austyn co-founded Woodside Bistro, a culinary cornerstone that played a key role in the revitalization of Greenville’s historic Woodside Community. His work there reflected a commitment to both craft and community. Today, Austyn is focused on raising his two young sons, balancing school and sports schedules, while also pursuing exciting television opportunities. He recently appeared on Food Network’s Chopped, Season 61, Episode 3, “Name Your Price,” showcasing his creativity and competitive edge on a national stage.
